Pelvic Therapy

Pelvictrainer is a device for pelvic floor muscle training with biofeedback.

The functions of the pelvic floor include supporting and maintaining the correct position of the organs in the pelvis, such as the bladder, rectum, anus, and reproductive organs. Why do so few people undergo pelvic floor rehabilitation? One of the main reasons is shame, psychological barriers, and the method of rehabilitation (traditionally using vaginal and anal electrodes). Self-administered training does not provide assurance that exercises are being performed correctly.

At CONSTANCE CARE, we use the Pelvictrainer for pelvic floor training. What is it?

The Pelvictrainer is an ideal solution and breaks this barrier, as the training is conducted without intimate contact, while dressed, and in a completely non-intrusive manner. The patient exercises individually, seated, and clothed, ensuring complete comfort.

The muscles forming the pelvic floor, like other skeletal muscles, are striated muscles – their movement is under our conscious and reflex control. Locating and properly contracting these muscles is a significant skill. Many people struggle with this and often perform exercises incorrectly. Explaining how to activate these muscles is difficult and, in practice, impossible for the therapist to control.

Indications:
  • Urinary incontinence issues
  • Pregnancy and the perinatal period
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Surgical procedures in the pelvic area
  • Overweight
  • Irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, hemorrhoids
  • Lumbar spine and hip instability and pain
  • Menopause
  • Advanced age
  • Broadly understood prevention

Exercises for this muscle group should be performed by both women and men, regardless of age.

There are no side effects and practically no contraindications. Diagnosis, exercise progress, and results are recorded and compared. The physiotherapist can observe and monitor the correctness of the exercises on a screen.

Benefits:
  • Control over physiological functions
  • Improved quality of life
  • Restoration of psychological comfort
  • Easier and less painful childbirth
  • Faster recovery postpartum
  • Reduction or elimination of lower back and hip pain
  • Enhanced sexual experiences
  • Improved potency

After completing the training, the patient will be able to exercise the pelvic floor muscles correctly and independently.
