Pelvictrainer

Pelvictrainer – What is it?

The Pelvictrainer is a device designed for pelvic floor muscle training with biofeedback technology.

The pelvic floor muscles play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the proper positioning of the organs located in the pelvic region, such as the bladder, rectum, anus, and reproductive organs. Despite their importance, many people avoid pelvic floor rehabilitation due to embarrassment, psychological barriers, and the traditional rehabilitation methods involving vaginal and rectal electrodes. Furthermore, performing exercises alone may not guarantee that they are being done correctly.

The Pelvictrainer addresses these issues by offering a non-invasive training method that requires no intimate contact. Training is conducted while the patient is fully clothed, sitting down, and in complete comfort, making it an ideal solution for overcoming barriers to rehabilitation.

The muscles that make up the pelvic floor are striated skeletal muscles, which are controlled both consciously and reflexively. Identifying and correctly activating these muscles can be challenging, and many people struggle to perform the exercises properly. Explaining how to engage these muscles is difficult and practically impossible for a therapist to monitor without assistance.

Indications:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Pregnancy and the perinatal period
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic surgeries
  • Overweight
  • Irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, hemorrhoids
  • Instability and pain in the lumbar spine and hips

Both women and men, regardless of age, should perform these exercises. There are no side effects and practically no contraindications. The diagnosis, exercise progress, and results are recorded and compared over time. The physiotherapist can monitor and assess the correctness of the exercises via a display screen.
