PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) neuromuscular facilitation is a comprehensive therapy developed by neurophysiologist Dr. Herman Kabata and physiotherapist Maggie Knott. The principle is based on the individual patient's needs. The goal is to work on function to improve the patient's neuromuscular activities. The PNF method involves viewing the person holistically, using healthy and functional areas of the body for treatment. The maximum number of muscle fibers are involved in the work, since the movements used in PNF are in line with the natural work of muscles and joints.

The PNF method is especially recommended for people with spasticity, or excessive muscle tension, the neglect of which can lead to restricted joint movement. PNF is a patient-friendly and safe therapy that provides high effectiveness as a result of a thorough analysis of the problem and appropriately directed actions in the treatment process. PNF restores spinal stability by improving neuromuscular control.
